Post Forensic Decontamination - Once the C.S.I. Team has completed their investigation much is left behind. Finger print dust is one of the biggest challenges that we encounter once the forensics team is finished investigating a crime. Do not attempt to remove this material unless you are properly trained. NOTE: Do not intentionally wet or walk over this chemical as the furnishings that have come in contact with the dust Will be damaged. This is a very complicated, lengthy cleaning procedure. It requires experienced professionals. Please contact us for a free estimate.lvaging all important personal items.

Vehicle Decontamination - (Theft, Crime, Trauma) Vehicle decontamination is an extremely important and much needed service. When a stolen vehicle is recovered, there are steps that need to be taken in order for the vehicle to be deemed a safe environment. For example, thieves usually do not respect the interior of the vehicle and may leave dangerous surprises behind such as:

  • Used syringes, (sometimes purposely placed into the seats in order that whoever is next to sit will be stuck with a used syringe)
  • Narcotics, (i.e. crack, crystal meth, heroine, marijuana etc.)
  • Drug paraphernalia, (used crack needles, crystal meth and marijuana pipes etc.)
  • “Biohazardous Infectious Materials”, such as bodily fluids (blood, urine, feces, etc.)

Any of the above makes the interior of a vehicle a Biohazardous Infectious Environment.

The decontamination procedure after a theft, violent crime, or a traumatic situation, often requires the removal of many parts of the interior, including but not limited to, door panels, dash boards, seats, vents and quite often internal electrical components as they all can become contaminated with bodily fluids. For example, if blood has been lost more often than not it has traveled into the vehicles HVAC system. Unfortunately, once the blood dries, the next time the vehicle is turned on

the air system it will blow out dry flakes of blood. Should any of these dry flakes of blood land on you or your passengers' mucous membranes, (eyes, nose, mouth) you know have an exposure incident. Hepatitis B is stable in dry blood even after it is exposed to the air. Only trained technicians, such as our staff, should even attempt to decontaminate the interior of a vehicle.

Our services are covered by most insurance companies.

Hanta Virus - Hanta Virus Pulmonary Syndrome, commonly known as Hanta Virus, is a general risk to the human population due to rodent or bat infestation.  Although risk of infection from the Hanta Virus is low, 50% of those infected become fatally ill.  Rodent and bat burrows, nesting, and the surrounding environment harbor the greatest risk of contamination.  Enclosed environments; such as attics, granaries, feed rooms, and other storage areas; offer the highest risk of infection.  The onset of illness is usually within 2 to 3 weeks of contact with the Hanta Virus and the symptoms are similar to human influenza.

Should you develop a rapidly worsening fever or respiratory illness, seek medical attention and communicate to your doctor that you have been in contact with rodents or bat infestation and suspect possible Hanta Virus infection.

USA Decon offers Hanta Virus decontamination services to any environment that may harbor the risk of contamination.
